How your data is stored
Your data is securely stored in an encrypted cloud database (Neon PostgreSQL). Sensitive fields — including your journal entries, mood notes, and chat messages — are encrypted with AES-256-GCM before being saved, so the raw database cannot be read without your encryption key.
What we store
- Encrypted: Journal entries, mood notes, chat messages
- ·Unencrypted: Mood labels (e.g., "great"), habit names, goal titles, dates
What is sent to AI
When you use the AI Assistant, your most recent moods (last 5), habit names, recent journal entries (last 3), and goals are sent to Google Gemini to personalise responses. This data leaves our encrypted database and is processed by Google's AI infrastructure. Please do not share information you wouldn't want processed by a third-party AI.
What we never store
- ✓ No passwords or authentication data
- ✓ No location or device data
- ✓ No biometric data
- ✓ No tracking cookies or analytics
- ✓ No data shared with third parties (beyond AI processing described above)
